What is jungler in league of legends

Once you've collected your buffs and defeated all the monsters on your side of the map, you can begin consulting your minimap for any lanes which might need some help. One of the best ways to do this is by ganking an ally's lane at just the right time, catch them off guard, and secure kills to gain an advantage. It's knowing when to attempt these ganks and which paths to take which is what separates the best junglers from the rest, so keep an eye out for low health targets who've pushed a little too far forward in lane.

This way you've got a much greater chance of ambushing them when they've got no way of escape. As a player who can often oversee the entire battlefield, the jungler is also usually the one who monitors important buffs and objectives across the map such as the Elder Dragon and Baron Nashor. Finally, you'll need to keep tabs on the enemy jungler's position. By no means do you need to have the foresight of an oracle, but it's key that you're somewhat aware of which lanes they might target, and even how well they're doing in comparison to you.

The best junglers monitor the opponent's jungler, perhaps warding the opposing jungle and catching them off guard as they're fighting monsters, or simply ganking the same lane to swing things in their favour.

There are a number of different routes you can take through the jungle and over time players have studied and optimised them to find the jungle path that are most efficient and most successful. Otherwise you can back to heal, or look for a gank in lane if one appears available. This path is more ideal for champions with area-of-effect- damage and who need the health regen from Red buff.

Essentially the reverse of what you would do on the Blue team. From there you can do Raptors, Wolves and Krugs if your health allows. Before minions have spawned, though, make sure you and your allies are providing vision in the area around your chosen starting camp in case your opponents try to invade.

Also, try to get your allies to leash for you. All this requires is them to land the first attack on a monster and then flee.

This will give you a few seconds where the creature will try to chase after them and save you a few hits. Your other buff should be protected and controlled by the remaining lane. Once you clear your first buff, start clearing the smaller camps, such as the Wolves, Wraiths, Krugs or Gromp. Read about ganking below and in the main article Gank.

Or, if the opportunity aries due to an enemy overextending or staying in lane on low health. Learning when to stop jungling to gank ultimately comes down to which champion you're jungling. For instance, weak ganking junglers such as Shyvana shouldn't gank unless the enemy laners are extremely overextended.

Below are some factors to consider when looking to gank. Most Important Considerations I Read the mini-map and check out the general situation. Just because enemy bot lane is over-extended does not make it the best place to gank IF your allies are OOM or low health. II Know your cooldowns. If your allies are not OOM and high health, but they no longer have their summoners, or their abilities up, your gank may fail. III Know your enemy. You need to keep track of when top lane has last used Flash , or when bottom lane has wasted Exhaust.

Main Ganking Factors 1. What champion am I playing and what can I do to kill this lane? Is this lane warded? Is the person I'm ganking strong enough to fight 1v2? The classic first jungle clear in League of Legends has always been to clear both buffs and a third camp in between to hit level three. With the recent changes to the jungle, the best way to do this is to clear either red or blue buff, clear gromp, and then the other buff. Killing wolves or raptors no longer provides enough experience to hit level three after three camps.

The first decision to make in your clear is which buff to start. To get the best leash possible, you can choose to start with the buff nearest your bot lane. This is because your bot lane has two people to leash instead of the one top laner if you were to start with your top buff. On blue side this will be your red buff. On red side this will be your blue buff. You want to kill your first buff without using Smite. Use the leash that your bot lane gives you to kill the buff quickly and without needing the large burst from Smite.

Killing the buff will give you level 2 and access to a second spell to help you clear your next camp faster. After starting at a buff, you decide on one of three actions. The most aggressive option is to quickly level two gank in an attempt to pick up an early kill. The two safer options are to begin a full clear of your jungle, or continue the aforementioned three camp start. In either case, you will want to save your Smite for your second buff if possible.

Strong early game junglers could be looking to invade your second buff, so holding your Smite for the finishing blow is recommended. The heal your champion gets from using Smite will also leave you healthier as you plan your next move on the map. At a neutral jungle camp spawns in the top and bottom rivers. Unlike the other camps, this Rift Scuttler does not fight back. That makes it a great early target to regenerate your health while earning gold and experience.

Of course, the opposing jungler will be thinking the same thing. Assuming both junglers start on the same side of the map, you can choose whether or not to force an engagement around the Scuttler spawn. Some things to consider before choosing to fight over it include: how healthy you are after your initial clear, how strong your jungler is early game compared to the opponent, and how able your laners are to quickly come to your aid in a fight.

If the fight looks to be advantageous, go for the Rift Scuttler. The opposing jungler may have come to the same conclusion. You would then get it for free. If you fight for it, be prepared to call your allies for help.

Also remember that using Smite on the Rift Scuttler during a fight will gain you health. If you fear you cannot take it before the other jungler contests you, again call to your allies for help.

As a jungler, you can start to plan your early game pathing in champion select. Though you will not know how the lanes will play out, you can discern what lanes on your team have crowd control. Lanes with ally crowd control will be easier to create a successful gank. Weak enemy laners can also be preyed upon, even if your crowd control is lacking. Once you get in game, it is your job to constantly be checking the map to see what gank opportunities are available to you.

Some things to look for include laner health, lane position, and what camps are up to clear. Laner health refers to how healthy your ally and the enemy laner are. The higher your ally health and lower your enemy health the better.

In the case in which both laners are low, it is especially enticing to gank because you can pick up a kill and potentially save your ally from death.
